The Chart Language Workshop
Have you ever had a specific question about a chart that you wanted to ask someone about, instead of just posting it in a forum?
- Sometimes you need to bounce a trade idea off someone.
- Sometimes you want a second set of eyes to confirm what you are seeing.
- Other times you just want to be sure you have it right.
- You just want to hone your skills.
You are not alone..
Imagine being able to discuss the question below, and talk about it live with other traders.
The following question and chart was posted in the Trading Educators Forum.
“Would you take these two trades (referring to the Traders Trick Entries [TTEs]) ahead of the Ross Hooks?”
The doubt about the trade occurred because both TTEs are within the range of what we at Trading Educators call a “measuring bar.”
One definition of congestion is that you are in it whenever you have a series of 4 opens or closes within the range of a measuring bar. The writer went on to say that he didn’t take the trades.
The problem is a lack of understanding of the following simple fact, or of not being able to see it in the chart: a trend always takes precedence over congestion. In both cases, prices were still trending, and those pull-backs were nothing more than profit-taking retracements within an overall trending market. If nothing else, a simple trend line (green line below) would have revealed that.

These Chart Language Workshop sessions are designed to enhance your trading by focusing on charts and the language of chart reading.
If you have taken any of Jim’s webinars before, you know how interactive they are. And yes, the GoToMeeting software is capable of making you the presenter. This way the discussion can be about what you see on your screen.
Just as in the example above, the discussions will focus on the issues in which you are interested. It is an open forum with real data, and focuses on your questions.
Here is an idea of some potential topics for discussion:
- The Law of Charts applied to your trading.
- Tips and tricks on identifying trades.
- Analysis of trades.
- Psychological trading tips and resources.
- How to scan for trades using The Law of Charts.
Each meeting is 1 hour in length, and 4 weeks in duration.
A maximum of 8 participants will be allowed in each session. This is to ensure that your issues are addressed.
Meeting times:
Wednesdays, 1:00 pm Central U.S. time (designed for those in European time zones).
Wednesdays, 8:00 pm Central U.S. time (designed for those in the U.S., Asia, and Australia time zones).
Recommended (not required) prework:
- Having taken the Law of Charts Flash Cards Online Class (strongly recommended)
- Having taken a seminar presented by Joe Ross (Trading Educators)
- Having read the free downloads at http://www.tradingeducators.com/resources.htm
- Having attended the Trading Inside the TTE Online Class
